Parma’s new attacking midfielder Terry Antonis injured his thigh in the young Socceroos victory against the Junior All Whites.

Young Socceroos coach Paul Okon spoke to Soccer Stoppage Time radio. He said Sydney FC youngster Hagi Gligor would replace injured Antonis, if he didn’t recover.

Okon named three players to be stand outs at the U20 World Cup; Jackson Irvine, Daniel De Silva and Curtis Good.

The omission of young Socceroo Mustapha Amini was justified by Okon, as he said he’s not featured in enough games in the past season.

According to Okon, Amini’s physical state wasn’t conducive to the rigours of an international tournament.

Okon praised the young Socceroos performance against Junior All Whites, “I’m very happy with the performance,” he said.

“We scored some great goals, created a lot of chances. We leave for Turkey now full of confidence.”

Adam Taggart netted a  hat-trick while Jamie McClaren and Ryan Edwards scored one goal a piece in a 5-0 rout against the Junior All Whites in Wollogong.
